Given the slow-developing market for Golladay and many other receivers, it will be interesting to see what kind of contract he lands and whether he opts for a one-year deal in hopes of reminding teams what he can do when healthy.

The Giants placed the franchise tag on Williams before the March 9 deadline, the second straight year that Williams was tagged. He was scheduled to make $19.4 million for the 2021 season on the franchise tender without an extension, which the two sides had until July 15 to agree upon.

The Titans essentially had to choose between Butler at a $14.2 million cap hit or Adoree' Jackson at $10.2 million. Jackson will start at left cornerback, while 2020 second-round pick Kristian Fulton is the likely starter in place of Butler. Breon Borders and Kareem Orr return as reserve cornerbacks.

“We don't expect him to be here long term,” Beane continued. “This is kind of a one year, probably not in his plans when he was drafted where he was, but we hope it's a great reset for him. Sean uses the ‘Make you be the best version of yourself here in Buffalo’ and then hopefully in a year, he'll get a chance to go back and land a nice contract and a starting job somewhere. We have no doubt that that'll happen, but we're excited to add him here in the mix.” Los Angeles Chargers Face masks

The carefully crafted initial tweet from Adam Schefter of ESPN says that the “[d]etails are great,” and that it’s a four-year $140 million extension. Although Schefter can perhaps find some plausible deniability in the precise meaning of “great,” it’s all fake and it’s all phony. The restructuring is a device for creating 2021 cap space, and nothing more.

The Chargers selected King in the fifth round of the 2017 draft. King settled in as the starting nickel corner and was named a 2018 first-team All-Pro at the position as well as a second-team All-Pro at punt returner.
